The Puritans
I think the Puritans were a good group of citizens, they strove for their worship like everyone else would. The Puritans also liked to argue a lot. But they live a strict life basically.
The Puritans loved the bible and they lived off of it. That’s all they talked about. They worship catholic like everyday. Any person seeking purity and a protestant is a Puritan. Most and matter of fact all of this took place in England.
It started back in the 16th and the 17th century when they came about. The Puritans beliefs were weird but not to them. The term "Puritan" first began as a taunt or insult applied by traditional Anglicans to those who criticized or wished to "purify" the Church of England.
The Puritans were hated by a lot of people, including other religions. They made people sit up and listen.
Those Puritans, who could not tolerate the Church of England and their persecutions, deemed separatists, left England and became "pilgrims." During the 17th century, there were legal actions taken against the Puritans because they did not want to follow the Act of Uniformity, and could not in good conscience. Second key point in the Puritan life was that which surrounded church life and the worship of God
The church is the people in the church, not the stone of the walls or the wood of the building. And they deemed a church strong and planted in Christ when it obtained 5 things, 1) the true preaching of the Word by sound doctrine, 2) the right administration of the sacraments, 3) the activity of church discipline, 4) strong leadership and 5) biblical worship. In worship, they were reverent and clearly organized during the service.
Puritan writing should be a common resource for every Christian in their home library. They are essential Christian reading, and their works ought to be vigorously studied. The theology and practice of Puritanism is not a perfect. There is no theological system which sinful men have gained a perfect insight into the Bible. While men live upon earth coupled with the remnants of remaining sin, they will never have a mind free of error, and thus, never have a theological system free from error.
Man's depravity. Our rebellion against God is total.
Apart from the grace of God there is no delight in the holiness of God, and there is no glad submission to the sovereign authority of God.
Irresistible Grace, Specifically, John 6:64-65 says, "‘but there are some of you that do not believe.' For Jesus knew from the first who those were that did not believe, and who it was that should betray him. And he said, 'This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father.'"
Romans 3:25-26 says that God "put Christ forward as a propitiation by his blood...This was to demonstrate God's righteousness because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. It was to prove at the present time that he himself is righteous and that he justifies those who have faith in Jesus."
Plain Style
Puritan literature was written plainly to reflect their plain lives, while Southern literature was ornate and decorated with colorful expressions, reflecting Southern life. The Puritans, unlike the Southerners, who lived slow paced lives, tried to glorify God in their every action. The similaries and differences present themselves in many ways.
Puritan Plain Style used little "showy language," because this glorified the writer, not God. Puritan Plain Style basically had an emphasis on nouns and verbs, the 'action' of the story. These were the most important elements of the story, and this is what the Puritans focused on. This writing style, because of its lack of descriptive language, can be somewhat difficult to read. An example of this is Bradford's "Of Plymouth Plantation." It tells what happened but little else. It doesn't arouse the same response as writing with more descriptive language would.

A Lil bout Da Govorner
Basically, i keep it calm and cool. As long as it aint boring im straight, i can participate. In my spare time im probably either out chilln with my boi's, stayn out of trouble, playn sports, runnin my family business, and of course playn video games. I came from Cedar Shoals bout a year and a half ago were my whole family attended. I transfered to Classic City because i thought it was going to be a smaller but better place for me personally because im easy to be distracted especially by 1500 people. I stood out at Cedar but didn't really like all the clowns around. I didn't want to come to Classic City but it probably was going to be better. I was playn sports with the school, also Hilsman Middle when i was jr high. I was really good in basketball, football, and baseball. I grew up all my life playn sports, from rec. league to high school. I mos def was very good at basketball and football, and just as better in baseball but i liked b-ball and football better. I should've used my talent of sports to go pro or somthing but since thats gone down the drain now im going to try to start my own business and continue with my wife and life.
