Why he is The Best Rapper Alive
Jay-Z
Sean Corey Carter a.k.a. Jay-Z was born on Dec 4, 1969 in Brooklyn, New York. He is an American rapper and current president and CEO of Def Jam and Rocafella. He also owns part of the New Jersey Nets basketball franchise and he also own Rocafella clothing line. He released his debut album on June 25 1996, which was Reasonable Doubt, which went platinum. He is now considered one of the most successful hip-hop artists in the world, financially too. Jay-Z grew up broke, he and his family down and out for so many years. Growing up in Marcy Projects where him and his mom struggled an everyday life in the ghetto trying to survive. She’d always say that Sean was just so special from everyone. He stood out from the crowd, even from his own brothers and sisters.
So many people look up to him as the king. Most rappers as of today just make him look like the don. He seems like a king to everybody in the rap industry. So many people use his name as one of the best rapper alive. Other people get looked at different because of their ways. Like the other rappers for example, and how they express themselves. Majority of the people compares him to the greatest, and a lot of people compare the greatest to him. He just has it all. Most people use his style and swagger. From the lyrics to the expression of himself, like that song called December 4th, where he starts off with his mom saying his date of birth and how much he’d weigh. I liked that; it was like a storyteller, which is on his Blueprint album. He basically can put his life on a beat and make it into music. Jay-Z already knows he’s the best. He has no more to accomplish because he did it all. Put it like this, who ever your favorite rapper is, Jay-Z is his favorite rapper. People feel so comfortable when they listen to his music. He has eleven albums out as of today, and nine of them went platinum, the others gold, and a couple went double and triple. But that’s just another way I can proove he’s the best rapper alive.
The way he retired for a couple months and came back so calm and smooth made me admire his swagger a little more. He knew these other rappers just held it down for him while he was gone. "I just all of a sudden wanted to cool down for a little and let others shine, not saying that I purposely did it, its something just happens," Jay-Z said in a article in the Jet Black magazine.
When being the best rapper alive, money is involved, because when you’re on the radio every day, and most of your CD’s and albums go platinum or gold, you get a good amount of money. Financially Jay-Z is the most successful out of all of emcees, artists/actors, producers, DJ’s and other people like that. This guy has a $90 million private jet. Money isn’t a problem to this man. He literally can wipe his butt with 100 dollars bills. I’m guessing that he’d probably be in the top fifty world’s richest male. Probably near thirty or thirty-five something like that but out of 100 billion people across the world I mean that’s good.
All of his albums you can just put in the boom box and let it ride out, play all songs from the intro to the outro non-stop no skipping or fast-forwarding. For example, on his Blueprint album, the song HOVA. The one where it goes, H to the izzo, V to the Izza, that song stayed on the radio, computer, countdowns, and some of everywhere. His music just makes me bob my head regardless of what type of beat he’s rapping off of. His rhythm and his way of putting words on a simple or confusing beat. In that song I was talking about earlier on the Blueprint album, his mom had an interlude on the song and this is what it says. Interlude: Gloria Carter] – "{talking} "Shawn used to be in the kitchen, beating on the table and rapping And umm, into the wee, which is the late hours of the morning, And then I brought him a boombox And his sisters and brothers said that he would drive them nuts But, that was my way to keep him close to me, and out of trouble" Then Jay Z’s verse comes in. {Verse Three}: {Jay-Z} "Goodbye to the game all the spoils, the adrenaline rush Your blood boils, you in a spot, knowin cops could rush at you in the drop, you so easy to touch No two days are alike, except the 1st and 15th pretty much And trust, is a word you seldom hear from us Hustlers, we don't sleep, we rest one eye up And a drought could define a man when the well dries up You learn the worth of water Without work you thirst 'til you die YUP! And n!g&@s get tied up for product And little brothers ring fingers get cut up to show mothers they really got 'em And this is the stress I lived with 'til I decided to try this rap s#!% for a living I pray I'm forgiven for every bad decision I made Every sister I played cause I'm still paranoid to this day And it's nobody fault, I made the decisions I've made This is the life I chose, or rather the life that chose me If you can't respect that, your whole perspective is whack Maybe you'll love me when I fade to black If you can't respect that, your whole perspective is whack Maybe you'll love me when I fade to black Now if you can't respect that, your whole perspective is whack Maybe you'll love me when I fade to black If you can't respect that, your whole perspective is whack Maybe you'll love me when I fade to black". {Fading out}
It’s like when you hear his music it just sound so different and odd, but at the same time he is telling you his life and how things happen, and how things can happen. I mean he isn’t that gangster type thug. He is more like a laid back relaxing artist who gets the job done, but at the same time from the hood, and shows it in a general way if needed.
If you have reputation and respect from everybody, especially the rap industry itself, the lyrics and everything else, to me makes him the best rapper alive. Anybody and everybody can call their self-the best rapper alive but you have to prove it, so he proved it. Jay-Z gave the crowd what they want, and what matters the most is they got what they paid for. He gave the audience a good performance, and then he was on the every countdown for a long time. People who know him and people who don’t know him just see and list him the best rapper alive. Jigga what?
