I’m walking downtown staring at all the big buildings. I could hear the wind howling as if a baby was whistling. I looked back, as I could smell the good Gyro wraps from Gyro, around the corner. It felt like I haven’t ate in five days because my stomach couldn’t stand to the smell of the great food. I started to get something to eat but forgot I was catching the bus home.
I turned the corner and saw so many people walking just like me. When I got to the Athens Transit I spotted one of my friends. He and I sat and talked for a little while before all the buses got back. When they arrived, he told me he was about to go get something to eat and he asked me if I wanted to go. I told him no, because my ride was not going to wait on me. I told him that I would catch up with him sometime later. I walked down the sidewalk towards the bus I was riding and I hear someone say "Danny"! I looked back surprised that I heard my name, and saw one of my good friends. It was a female that I haven’t seen in years and I knew her since I could remember. Her and I sat down and had a good long talk about whats been going on with each other and how each of us was doing since we haven’t seen each other in a long time. She was on her way to work before I stopped her. Finally she gave me her number, and told me to call her sometimes because she had to go. I really didn’t want to accept it because she used to go with my best friend. But I did
I was sitting here thinking on this one slow bus that happens to be mine. Everybody else’s bus is here but mine. The city sounds so busy even though it is so small. So many cars horn blowing, cars turning, radio’s playing,….its just Athens. As I was thinking to myself, how did Athens population get so big and busy, how did Athens get like this? It’s all because of the UGA I think.
As I began to lean up, I finally saw and heard my bus, I heard someone say stop him. I looked up and saw a man running down the street with a pocketbook in his hand. I’m sitting here thinking, should I be the one to save her day or should I be the follower like everybody else. I finally thought about what was really going on, and what kind of person I was. I mean look at the little lady, she looks like she bothers nobody, and she seems like she might be quiet and peaceful. I finally looked back and saw the police had him on the ground.
I didn’t know how they got him, but they had him possession. They had his arms all bent up, folding in a way that I know was hurting. I was thinking, what if I would’ve tripped him up, or tackled him? I would’ve been a good citizen. I Probably would’ve got an award, it was too late for that. I looked over on the ground and see the red pocketbook that the crook had tried to snatch from the old lady. I thought about walking over to pick it up and hand it to the little old lady but the police probably would’ve thought I was trying to steal it, so I said forget about it. I looked back because I forgot all about my bus, I proceed towards the bus and hoped on and began my journey home.
